Gustav Klimt built cathedrals out of gold leaf and symbolism. The Irish Wolfhound was always the right subject.
This full-body Irish Wolfhound stands in profile, rendered entirely in a Klimt-inspired mosaic of teal, cobalt, and gold swirling patterns that replace solid fur with interlocking curvilinear shapes. The background is hammered-gold leaf texture, broken up by stylized floral scrollwork in emerald and blue — lotus blooms, coiling vines, and geometric tile borders. The hound's body carries the same decorative language as the surrounding foliage, so dog and background read as one continuous composition. The dog's rough, wiry coat is suggested through layered spiral motifs rather than brushwork, and the posture — alert, upright, slightly elevated — gives it the weight of a heraldic emblem.
