Gustav Klimt spent his career covering things in gold. Someone should have told him about the Spanish Mastiff sooner.
This full-body Spanish Mastiff stands square and composed against a dark chocolate background, its coat rendered in ochre, burnt sienna, and deep amber geometric patterns — triangles, dots, and interlocking shapes pressed directly into the fur like illuminated manuscript work. Spiraling gold and copper swirls expand behind the dog in concentric waves, punctuated by small teal and rose gemstone accents scattered across the composition. A decorative collar of turquoise stones sits at the throat. The dog's expression is, characteristically, unimpressed.
